Are you tired of looking into the mirror and seeing how overweight you’ve become? Well guess what – it’s not written in stone that you have to look like this and feel like this every day. You can make a change, and the first step is to draw up some diet plans to lose weight.

So what are we up against? Well, experts on the subject of weight loss have declared that over 300,000 individuals die every year due to obesity or weight inspired complications. Obesity is a term used to describe people who have a body mass index (BMI) of twenty five to twenty nine, which most experts consider to be an overweight number. Over 25% of the population in the United States of America alone suffers from obesity.

Doesn’t sound so bad? Well what if I told you that these people are having trouble sleeping, even having difficulty breathing, have a higher chance of coming down with illnesses or contracting diseases? What about the fact that such people have intensely low self esteem due to fatigue that can approach the chronic state? Why choose a life path that inevitably leads to such awful physical pain?

Obesity results from eating more than your body can break down through its normal metabolism processes, which causes excessive amounts of fat to store itself in various areas of your body, most often the belly, butt, thighs and chest. Now it is important to remember that you have to consider why you are overweight to begin with. Some people are definitely overweight because they eat too much, or have irresponsible eating habits. Others, however, are simply genetically predisposed to carry around extra weight.

Even if it’s genetics, it still doesn’t mean you have to live this way. Regardless of why you’re overweight, before undertaking any diet you should always consult your doctor. Talk to them honestly and openly about your life and areas in which you could improve. If your weight is due to genetics, there are many kinds of medications you can take to help jump start your metabolism.

Once you’ve spoken to your doctor, you can start putting together a plan to lose weight. Don’t rely on medication, or changes in nutrition. You also have to make yourself a more active person. Start taking part in more physical activities. Try lifting weights, try jogging. If neither of those are to your liking, then you can always just park farther away when you drive to stores so you have to walk farther to get to the door. It’s these simple changes that can make all the difference.

With this knowledge, you can start making diet plans to lose weight that will actually pay off for you and your health – and keep off the weight for good.
